A low watery landscape, never more than one storm away from flooding its meadows. A landscape where the boundaries between land and water are moveable and three dimensional; they become blurred. As winter sets in the water rises up through the soil as well as spreading across it. Water in the rhynes rises and spills over. Villages, hamlets and farms standing low swellings of ground become mediaeval, elemental islands again.
